Lifereef Filter Unboxing and Photos

One of my friends recently bought a custom built Lifereef filter for his 140 gallon tank. The filter is hand built by Jeff Turcheck (the one man crew behind Lifereef) and they are truly a work of art! My friends tank is tall tank, versus the traditional large, and Jeff did an amazing job puzzling together an amazing multi part filter, reefugium and protein skimmer, and it all fit like a charm.

To get things rolling, the filter came in some amazingly well packaged boxes! Looking back, it is hard to believe this all fit under the tank.

It took us some time to unpackage everything and get it into place. Then, properly piecing it all together was quite the task, especially given the limited space. Once together, though everything worked like a charm! Here is a composite image of the filter installed, followed by two of the four photos I used in the composite, as well as a front view of the filter from ground level.

All in all the build went off without a hitch! It seems to be working great and not leaking at all. Jeff (my friend) is very pleased with the results and I was glad to live vicariously through him and help put it all together!
